Robin Lloyd-Jones 1934 to 2024

Dear friends and colleagues in the writing fraternity,
Robin Lloyd-Jones 1934 – 2024 – died peacefully in his bed with his wife Sallie holding him on the early morning of 5th September. The celebration of Robin’s life is due to take place in Helensburgh on 19/09/2024 (10:30 am to 12:30 pm). to be held at the Rosslea Hall Hotel, Rhu, Helensburgh from about 10:30 to 12:30.

We expect around 80 people. The tone of the event is very much celebratory, informal and colourful. There will be catering, music playing, and a slide show of selected photos. Participants will mingle, eat, drink, chat, etc. The coffin (made of biodegradable cardboard) will be in the conservatory adjacent to the event area, and there will be a tub of pens/crayons for all participants to leave messages/drawings on the coffin.
After that, the burial will take place at the Killearn Woodland Cemetry at 1:30, just for family .
I will be presenting the eulogy at the celebration –
If you’d like to send a card to his family please send it to Sallie Lloyd-Jones:

Greenburn,  26 East Clyde Street,  Helensburgh, G84 7PG, Scotland

I’ve also written an obituary which will be published in local and national papers after the “send-off”

Robin is survived by his wife Sallie, three children: Glyn Lloyd-Jones, Kally Lloyd-Jones, Leonie da Costa,; and three grandchildren:  Chloe da Costa, Cassandra Lloyd-Jones and Andre da Costa. Robin supported several charities including Water Aid, Autumn Voices or Woodland Trust –  you are welcome to make a donation in memory of Robin.
