Forthcoming PSP Publication: Steadfast Trickster tributes to the life and times of Robin Lloyd Jones. Please book via Ticket Source for both zoom and in-person.

“Robin first came into my life when he asked me to publish Autumn Voices, and send a letter to Creative Scotland to support his grant application, stating I would publish the book. I agreed, sent the letter to CS and he was awarded a grant of about £13,500 to cover the cost of research, interviewing twenty-one published writers in Scotland who were over seventy years old – and curating pieces they had published since turning seventy. . . .” Contributors include Robin’s wife Sallie Lloyd-Jones, son Glyn, daughters Kally and Leonie, grandchildren Chloe, Cassandra and Andre, colleagues and readers – Mary Irving, Dougie MacKenzie and Simon Berry and Sheila Templeton. I’ve had the privilege of compiling and editing the Steadfast Trickster.

READ FICTION DIRECT
On my way to Dhanakosa to lead a writing and taiji retreat with Linda France, I dropped into Sally and Iain’s bookshop in Callender. Almost feels like a pilgrimage as I enter the shop, shake hands with Iain, talk to the chickens in the garden and find Sally in the green house butchering a deer roadkill. Morelle Smith and Sally Evans have started a new press extending Diehard at the Callander Press: “Morelle and Sally decided they believed in their work enough to produce their own books. They would band together, edit and typeset their books co-operatively, and pay for their own printing, believing they could break even by selling the books under the new imprint Fiction Direct. This got rid of their need for backing from third parties who could not afford to invest in them anyway. They would involve more writers.”
