As this year comes to an end, everything seems to be speeding up with more and more events, parties, AGMs; more floods and fires, more wars less peace on earth goodwill . . . How to stay calm in the storms ahead? Is it time to do less and less until nothing’s left to do? Or . . .

The Poet’s Way on 1st December

Doors open at 5:15pm for a prompt start at 5:30 – ending around 9pm and with one short comfort break and a longer 30 to 40 minute break for refreshment and writing time. Venue: Glasgow Buddhist Centre: 72 Berkeley St (G3 7DS), sharing space with the Glasgow Unitarian Church. Bring a poem to share, your own or a favourite published poem. Please bring 4 copies of the one poem you want appreciated.

The Poet’s Way awakens to the power of poems to compliment & enhance our spiritual practice. Inspired by Manjusvara’s book The Poet’s Way (Jane Hirshfield says “this book offers warm-hearted, step-by-step awakening into the possibilities and powers of poems”).

Relax, Replenish and Reconnect

Weekend Retreat 14/15 December, 10am to 5pm led by Ratnadevi

Venue: 2A, Vinicombe St, Glasgow

​Cost: £150, single day option £80/day (if you can’t afford the fee, a reduction may be available)

for anyone with some previous experience of meditation, suitable as CPD for mindfulness teachers.In the midst of the dark season, close to the midwinter solstice, this is an opportunity to take care of ourselves. There are so many demands on us in our modern world – this retreat is a place where we can let go and find ease in a relaxed atmosphere, touching in with ourselves in deep and satisfying ways. It will restore our inner equilibrium; help find inner peace and direction and get our hearts singing again.

The days will be mostly silent, with expertly and sensitively led periods of sitting meditations, interspersed with simple movement sequences, bodyscan and walking meditations.The venue is a beautiful, peaceful studio in the Westend of Glasgow, near the Botanic Gardens. 10 places only, so book your place soon. 

Refreshments will be provided, bring your own lunch. There is equipment but you may prefer your own meditation stool/cushion.
